With growing number of english speakers in India,people have gradually started to speak in english instead of their own mother tongue.


See....i bring to u some very common examples...(all i aim is to not to bring into notice of the extreme cases)
A carpenter comes to ur house,he works for you.Of course you need to communicate with him,what language are you supposed to use..?

A business partener/employee comes to you who doesnt know ur regional lingo,so the other language comes into picture.

We go to a high society party, use usually English there......
why?
what do we want to show?
Or
Is it actually the case that we want to show that we know english.

Of course i must admit,english now serves as a common language (as hindi did it for the past) for the part of the society which considers itself separated from a below average literate Indian.They also consider themselves more attached to the outer world which actually doesnt recognize hindi.

All of us know,learning english is a necessity,but using it in daily life isnt.
What are the reasons behind this kinda show of ur knowledge for the other language.

One probable reason that comes to my mind is that we speak n write in english to learn more of it.Keyboards with english characers are more readily available.


Also does english make us feel more confortable than the others.
